Posted on May 22nd, 2009 in Cool, Search, Viral | Comments

If you own an iPhone and are looking for a cool way to find iPhone apps, check out AppStoreHQ. You can easily discover the most blogged about apps and also search, read reviews and buy apps via iTunes via links on the site. They also have a great blog widget which allows you to review an app and embed a link/reviews in your blog post very easily. Just navigate to an app’s page and click on the ‘Add Review’ link.

Find iPhone apps at AppStoreHQ

Here’s an example for the TripIt App. This service by the way rocks. If you travel at all, sign up for TripIt and if you have an iPhone, get the TripIt App. It will be a lifesaver. Just forward all your travel confirmation emails to TripIt and it builds a dynamic itinerary for you. The app automatically syncs so when you’re traveling you have access to Flight info, confirmation details, phone numbers etc all in one place. Brilliant.

Aircraft Geek Alert

I normally get an aisle seat these days but last weekend I ended up in a window on the wing. I love aircraft and am always amazed by how the geometry of a wing changes as an airliner comes in to land and the flaps and spoilers are deployed.

Alaska Trip Photos

I’ve blogged about this trip before, but I rediscovered these two photographs recently and I love them. These were taken with a 35mm SLR & Black and white film while flightseeing in Alaska a couple of years ago.

1. Under-wing shot while flying over the Alaska Range in a Cessna 206

2. Our pilot landed the plane on the beach so we could hike in to see bears.

Although I love my DSLR, there is something beautiful about these photos. (The setting doesn’t hurt either.)
