Rahul, The problem that I see with LookStat is, that you have to use your usernames and password for the different agencies. Most photographer (me included) will not give out this information. It is like giving away you username and password for your finance institutes + your SSN. I don’t know how you can overcome this problem. Maybe you can pull some statistic first with just the username. As people starting to trust you, then they can maybe upgrade to a different account status.

    Hi Henrik,

Thanks for taking the time to check out LookStat and to provide this feedback. Security is really important and it’s something that we take very seriously. I’ve written about some of the steps we’ve taken at the LookStat Blog (http://blog.lookstat.com) and we will continue to do more in this area. Sites like Yodlee have been aggregating financial and credit card data for years so we feel like the security issues can be addressed.

From a trust perspective, you’re right – we need to earn it. We’re being as open, accessible and transparent as we can. Our goal is to build a successful business by delivering a great, secure service to microstock contributors and we hope our actions and the quality of our product will speak to that.

I love your idea about pulling some initial data just via the username and then allowing people to upgrade later.

Thanks again for the feedback. I hope we’ll convince you to give the service a try at some point.

    Sincerely,

    Rahul
